It is thought that the name Shepherd's Bush came from a resting point for shepherds on their way to Smithfield Market in London the custom of pruning a Hawthorn bush to provide a shelter for shepherds gave them some relief from the elements as they watched their flocks. Today it is a busy triangular Green surrounded three main roads in and out of London screened by leafy trees.
