House Hunting in 2022 - The Survivors Guide
It's been an unbelievable start to the 2022.
Demand from highly motivated buyers has increased at an almost exponential rate from the very first working day of 2022. This has gathered momentum throughout January and Feburary and we feel will continue well into late Spring early Summer.
We have already agreed a record number of sales in January which is testament to Kerr and Co’s accurate pricing and marketing strategy tailored to our client’s needs.
The number of home valuation requests in the first working week of 2022, have been the busiest I have seen since starting my business in 1993. As predicted in our last newsletter, enquires over the Christmas period and the New Year bank holiday were a record for our firm and the industry as a whole.
There is no doubt the changes we have all experienced over the last few years will have a lingering effect. For some time now the property industry has reported of a shortage of good quality housing stock - this is a very real problem and one that can’t be resolved overnight.
However there seems to be some light at the end of this particular tunnel, Rightmove has reported valuation requests are up by 44% over the same period in 2021 and 48% up on 2020. This has prompted eager home owners and buyers to become extremely well organised with their finances, solicitors and long-term plans in place, putting them in an excellent position to move swiftly once they decided on a property.
