Launch of First Exhibition at the New Askew Gallery May 2nd - May 7th

Shepherds Bush has a new art gallery and its first exhibition will take place over this bank holiday weekend .  The Askew Gallery is a new art space which was set up to support the many local artists who work in the local area and located at 159 Askew Road, opposite the Orchard Tavern public house.

The first three artists taking part are Isabel Dodd, Kate Fishenden and Philippa Smith, who are all local to Shepherds Bush and have a large range of their work on display spanning textiles, screenprints and floral installations.  There will be craft-based workshops during the week, for adults and children, while much of the work in the exhibition will be for sale, together with flower-related cards and tea towels.

The first exhibition is named - For The Love of Flowers, runs from 3 May to 7 May (noon-5pm).

You can register to attend a private view from 5-9pm on Thursday 2 May, or you can meet the artists and have a look at the show from noon-2pm on Saturday 4 May.

The Askew Gallery can be reached by a spiral staircase and housed within the CP Architects office. It has been created by CP partners Warren Hagues and Matt Hedges.   A number of artist based events are being planned throughout the year for more information and to book tickets visit the website
