National Gardening Week 2023

National Gardening Week starts from the 1st to the 7th May 2023, is a yearly event which celebrates week of gardening across the UK and the start of summer events at the many beautiful public gardens across the country.

The theme for National Gardening Week in 2023 is very much to celebrate His Majesty King Charles III Coronation on the 6th of May and his passion for nature and love of horticulture.

With this in mind the RHS are inviting everyone to produce their own 'coronation container planter' to enjoy throughout the summer and to mark the beginning of King Charles III reign.  The planter can be any shape or size and children are particularly encouraged to join in to create a colourful creation and tribute to this historical moment with the view to looking after it over the summer months. Window boxes, hanging baskets tubs or plant pots can all be used, the more colourful the better as they will encourage bees and butterflies into gardens all of which are vital to the pollenating process and the survival of many plants and their existence .

By using the hashtag #nationalgardeningweek you can join the celebrations on the RHS social media channels: Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
